Michigan got absolutely hosed by getting the #5 seed after winning the Big Ten. They now get to face Big West champ UC San Diego in the first round.

There is no way, based on any possible metric that UNC got in over Indiana, or West Virginia.

NET rankings. They’re 15 spots ahead of WVU and 18 ahead of Indiana. I’m not saying it’s right, as I’ve already mentioned my qualms with the NET rankings, but that’s likely the justification. They must lose more efficiently than the other teams did.Merganzer wrote: Sun Mar 16, 2025 4:57 pm There is no way, based on any possible metric that UNC got in over Indiana, or West Virginia.

Agree about the NET. It didn't make any sense during the season, and just the little I heard about how much better Indiana was when it came Quad 1 competition than UNC, shows how a NET really is full of holes.droop10 wrote: Sun Mar 16, 2025 5:17 pmNET rankings. As far as seedings, Louisville got the shaft worse than anyone. #10 team in the country (AP poll) and they get a #8 seed and needing an upset over a #1 seed just to make the Sweet 16. Yikes.
Great game by Xavier tonight. Came back from 13 down to beat Texas. Playing up the road in Dayton definitely helped.

Wow, Texas at 19-15 made it in over Indiana at 19-13. The Longhorns were 6-12 in their conference, and that was deemed good enough to make the NCAA tournament. Crazy. I'm glad they lost, and may the other five SEC teams with losing records in conference who still made the tournament suffer a similar fate.

Agree that AP No.10 shouldn't have been an 8, but they just got torched, 89-75 by Creighton.StevensTechU wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 9:25 pm As far as seedings, Louisville got the shaft worse than anyone. #10 team in the country (AP poll) and they get a #8 seed and needing an upset over a #1 seed just to make the Sweet 16. Yeah Louisville sucks. 4-6 in Quad 1 games. and ACC is a bad conference outside of Duke, so their good Quad 2 record is inflated because of a poor ACC conference. If those Quad 2 games were against SEC/Big Ten, they'd have 5 more losses.

Clemson also getting plastered by 12-seed McNeese. Barring an amazing comeback, the whining from the ACC will die to a wimper.
Big 10 taking care of business so far; Purdue and Wisconsin through to the next round.

Huh, that should have been in doubt when you saw Oregon in their region.UOducksTK1 wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 2:06 pm Not feeling so hot about Duke winning it all anymore, LOL
Looks like Gonzaga is going to send another SEC team with a losing record in conference home.

Ha, I thought about it. Duke has so many good shooters, I just don't see it happening.Phalanx wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 2:22 pmHuh, that should have been in doubt when you saw Oregon in their region.UOducksTK1 wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 2:06 pm Not feeling so hot about Duke winning it all anymore, LOL![]()
