Based on chatter around social media and other forum boards, sounds like there could be a few more commits coming in the next day or so.

Fielder will almost certainly be a four star once reevals come in. Majority of Big Ten wanted him, along with other good schools across the country.

And as predicted, now that he's been evaluated he's move to 81 overall (from 908th previously).

He visited USC yesterday and sounds like they gained some ground in his recruitment. Hopefully he sticks.

I assumed this kid was gone the second SC. I think I read he grew up an SC fan, so I’m skeptical the Ducks have much of a chance to retain him. On to the next one

It really is an interesting era, do we even get excited for these early commits? Oregon does the heavy lifting for some of these early recruits by identifying the under the radar gems and giving them a good offer, but then a flashy star chasing school like USC comes along with a bagman.

I think coaching & the transfer portal matter more these days than recruiting. Yes, recruiting still matters -- just look at how many underclassmen contributed for the Ducks last season -- but it's far more efficient landing proven contributors in the portal. And having coaches who are Xs and Os gurus is becoming increasingly important as well as dependence on recruiting rapidly declines.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Indiana is a great example of this new model. Its quite ironic how efficient and successful this new model is but the traditional top college programs are unable to fully replicate it because of how well they can and are expected to recruit top HS players.

Fielder has decommitted and committed to USC. Sucks to lose to him to the Trojans but still plenty of options out there. Of course, USC had to troll Oregon again after getting him, just like they did when they landed Danny Lang the other day. Oregon lives rent free in their brains.

Bummer. Their recruiting classes are taking a big step up the last couple years. The money is finally pouring in.

lol ok kid, looks he is easily distracted by the newest shiny thing. If USC wants to continue overpaying for high schoolers and base their entire team off hype and not substance than they’ll be in the market for a new coach soon and hard to find machine many coaches wanting that job with that culture.

This is no different than Fa’alave Johnson. Do we want him? Yes. Is he a good prospect? Absolutely. Do we have better young players on the roster currently that would make him a low priority and keep him from having significant playing time soon? Also yes. Good luck to him, but we’ll be fine without him.

Not really concerned about losing Fielder since Oregon has their likely future OTs in Iheanacho and Tofi on the roster along with Fox Crader, Ziyare Addison, and Trent Ferguson. Plus they're still after a lot of other OTs this cycle. Fielder is also a USC legacy so it was probably a matter of time before he flipped anyways.
