Mops question

Post by jimmy12 »

I appreciate the predictions you made a few weeks ago. Do you care to make your last set of predictions of how this class will finish?

I think we get: Jackson, Gaines, Boyd and Marshall

Am I missing any or off on any?

At this point, I would be surprised if we land any of the guys that the OP has listed.

I think we have the best shot at landing Boyd. With all of the current info out there, even guys like TK are thinking Clemson may end up with him.

With Gaines, you would have to think that our current situation with JC players could very well keep him off of our team. Not to mention that outside of this forum, nobody is talking about him being a duck.

I hope we get Jackson but he is still listed as a commit for the Buff's. I don't have any faith in the "distance from home" trick actually working out in our favor.

I don't really know where we stand with Marshall. I am not all that concerned here though since we got a commit from Grant for next season.

I think we get Jackson and that's all. I think Boyd's a 30% chance and Gaines is 50%

Alright, sure, I can do this.

Keep in mind I am doing what IMO will be what happens, not what people are predicting or anything like that.

James Johnson-UW
Justin Brown-Oregon
Marshall-Utah
Evans-Kentucky
Gaines-Oklahoma
Tepa-UCLA
Montgomery-LSU
Hall-Oregon
Jackson-Oregon
Boyd-Oregon
Brown-Miami(I am 50/50 on this and I decided to make the safe pick on it)

I noticed you left out Diante Jackson  I would be happy with Boyd, Hall and Brown.

There was a lot of talk about overbooking this class, which doesn't seem feasible with the list of prospects we have...should we expect more of the keaton arden variety, aka sleeper?

Why do you think that Justin Brown will end up a duck? We haven't discussed him very much and his profile lists us at low interest on Scout. I know that scout is hardly reliable, but I am just curious what gives you hope about him. Not to mention that he has been quoted as having Penn State as his leader and he is visiting them this weekend with no visit listed for us.

I believe he is talking about Justin Brown, the defensive tackle.

Are you looking at the correct Justin Brown? Mops is talking about the defensive tackle, I would assume:

http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p=8&c=1&nid=3530117

He has high interest in Oregon and Colorado, but hasn't visited Oregon yet. This is very much like the Clay situation. He will be visiting on the 1/28, he plays a position that it is very much an area of need for the Ducks, so if the coaches do a good job on his visit, they should have an excellent shot at closing him.
