Position coaches filled?

Post by jhopduck »

Jerry Azzinaro for the DL seems to be a done deal from Mosley.
Also Scott Frost as the WR coach seems to be pretty close to a deal too.
These are the guys chip wanted and not fall backs in any way apparently. Good to get this over with and put behind us.

I hadn't heard that, but maybe. I just don't understand how someone could be HC, OC, and QB coach

Day got past over for the BC OC job, so he still could make his way out here as a Assistant. QB coach or assitant to the OC or something. I know CK will be hands on in this regard but he will still need someone to help with these duties.

I think Day was holding out hope of being BC's OC but that has now been filled, so now the latest rumor is that CK is still trying to get him as QB coach and OC in waiting.

You have to believe that Chip as a blueprint in his mind of how he intends to build this program... He is so focused on perfection, that he is just assembling what he feels are the best available pieces to the puzzle.

Here's hoping his coaching staff developes the kind of chemistry that makes CK's O so unstoppable!

Something to think about with Chip. IMO ~ Friend or not, the TEAM comes first. If it's not working out, he will cut you loose. Rip the bandaid off fast. I don't see him sacrificing the success of the team because you're a friend. Doesn't strike me as a cupcake in that department.

That's one thing that always bothered me about the current staff. Where are the young coaches with a bright future. I love the fact that we are bringing in a guy like Frost. And if we get a good 3-5 years out of him before he gets a promotion then so be it. Chip will then replace him with someone who has as much drive, or more.

Frost ‘played great in big games’

Mike Babcock
HuskersIllustrated.com

Countdown: No. 3

Scott Frost was a winner. He "played great in big games," Coach Tom Osborne said after he directed a 54-15 victory against Texas A&M in the 1997 Big 12 championship game. Those who pick all-conference teams "rank quarterbacks by raw stats versus productivity and winning football games. Scott has run this team well and played well this season." Even though he played only two seasons, Frost finished his Cornhusker career seventh in total offense, seventh in passing yardage and 25th in rushing yardage.
