Nothing about these new rumors?

Post by glazeduck »

Hey guys, not being a member of any insider site I don't know the details, but Rivals and several other boards are mentioning us getting visits from Akuna and Dungy and talking to Josh Shirley...

Haven't seen any of this mentioned yet, was curious if anyone had anymore info on any of it?

If you're ESPN insider, you know. Akuna and Dungy are both scheduled to visit.

not good news at all.. Dungy? come on. if the Ducks whiff on Lowe, Huff, etc, why not save the schollie for next yr

Somebody mentioned that he's best friends w/ some really highly touted RB in next years class.

Also, he's Tony Dungy's son -- that can't hurt.

I know nothing about the kid or his game, but often when they're rated THAT low, it has more to do w/ that he hasn't been fully evaluated, rather than he's that LOWly ranked... Not saying that's the case but it could be.

Totally not a good football decision, but having Tony Dungy's kid as a duck would be kind of cool as a backup plan.

Seems a little unlikely that Tony Dungy's kid would be unevaluated.

Dungy just picked up a FSU offer, so don't be so quick to judge the talent.

After the way Tony Dungy was willing to help Chip Kelly with the Blount situation, I would be honored to have his son in a Duck uniform next season.

Even if Dungy's kid is just a part time player it's still good national Pub for the Ducks.

I honestly don't think Chip would offer some kid just for sh/ts and gigs... he's gotta see something in him. I'd be willing to bet he's got incredible football sense and knowledge than 99% of recruits because of his dad.

Any links to the two? I know nothing about either. Akuna would be cool just for the Akuna Mattata nickname. We could call him No Worries! (and yes, I know it's spelled Hakuna)

I said this in another thread but I am pretty sure the coaches know talent when they see it, better then us fans. The Ducks staff have done a good job at recognizing talent with quite a few former Ducks that were not rated very high but ended up performing great for the Ducks! I think we put too much emphasize on stars. The reality is we are not to the point of being able to get a class full of 4-5 star talent. We are lucky if we can get one 5 star guy and a few 4 stars. Our coaches have been able to develop the 2-3 star guys that we more commonly have gotten in the past. We are starting to see more 4 star talent but it will be a gradual thing, besides if you are a top WR would you want to play on a team that hardly ever throws the ball and the times they do throw they are almost always less then 10 yards.
