Rishard Matthews...
Wondering if he ever made it to a JC and if there was any chance of us getting him again...I believe he was from the '07 class and was one of the most impressive players in his videos...Was a WR

Re: Rishard Matthews...
Rishard Matthews could have been a great CFB WR from what I was told about him. He was a great find by John Neal as RM kind of fell thru the recruiting cracks because he switched high schools (even switched states).
He was very impressive in a post season all star game and many felt that Oregon has a major steal on their hands. When he didn't qualify many were pretty bummed, but also felt we'd have a great shot in 2 yrs. Word came out that Rishard either wasn't attending JUCO or he didn't last long. He simply wasn't doing much at all to impress our coaches and it quickly dawned on lots of folks that Matthews wouldn't never be wearing a Duck uniform or any D1 one at all. A big shame.

Sad I remember what was being said at the time that he coulda been a good player for us! But once he missed getting in he obviously lost his motivation, you got to fell bad but then again, who knows maybe we dodged a bullet...its hard to know their situation! I hope he's doing well!MacDuck wrote:Rishard Matthews could have been a great CFB WR from what I was told about him. Rishard Matthews had some of the best Highlight clips of anyone in our class that year. He not only would have been a good WR for us, be also a monster in the return game. For as good as that class was/is for us, the losses of that class are really starting to show up now.

Matthews was a commit to UTEP when he signed his LOI to Oregon in 2007. Went to Santa Ana College. not sure where he is now but was a stud @ Santa Ana.( He tripped here w/ Eddie Pleasent & Dominic Glover. )
