Blount suspended indefinately - does this help with BB?
Read the paper that MB suspended LGB for failure to fulfill team obligations. I wonder if that helps BB make up his mind, knowing he could come in and start now if LGB doesn't get it together.
I also wonder if MB made the suspension seem harsher so that BB would really see his shot opening up to start.
Thoughts?

I don't believe for one second MB would turn on Blount just to get BB on board. Besides that this suspension likely ends right before spring practices start and I doubt he misses any real practice time or anything. This suspension is merely a wake up call and don't miss class sort of deal.

I wasn't meaning he suspended him just for BB. I mean maybe LGB did do something and needed to be punished, but MB might be making it sound worse (indefinate) to help entice BB. Out of all the shady things coaches do to lure recruits, i think this would be one of the less shady things and might work out to our advantage. 2 birds 1 stone and all.

This is a suspension to send a message nothing more. If MB comes back next year do you really think Blount isn't going to be around, a player who with the exception of Masoli UO can't afford to lose? MB is just sending a message to Blount and the rest of the team, that he/they need to go to class and be at all the "volunteer workouts".

Disagree quite strongly. MB would NEVER throw anyone under the bus, EVER! It's likely that LGB needed to be reminded of his obligations and MB has never hesitated to put the team first when it comes to suspensions, terminations, etc. I'm sure LGB will get his act together. I'm not so sure about Pritchett, however, as the kid seems to be having ongoing issues. Perhaps one day he'll wake up and realize that he's throwing it all away and that he needs to clean up his act quickly.impurz wrote:Read the paper that MB suspended LGB for failure to fulfill team obligations. I didn't mean to imply MB was throwing anyone under the bus. I was just thinking it might help out with the recruitment of BB. I mean if LGB didn't have a problem with it maybe.....
I was just curious as to the affect it might have on BB is all.

I don't think LGB being suspended or not would have any affect on BB. Brown, I'm sure, believes in his abilities and probably believes he'd come in and compete for playing time whatever the situation. Whether that's true or not....who knows. But he's 18 years old and was a huge fish in a pond. Now he's going to be a huge fish in the ocean, he just doesn't realize yet how big the ocean is.

You seem to be fishing for a particular response and don't like the answers you want.
To be clear, no Duck fan believes that MB would EVER tie team discipline or team decisions with the recruiting process, ever! MB doesn't roll that way.
It's not a good sign that you even dare ask such a question.

That would be a Petey Boy way of handling suspensions, would it not?

Yes it would, I didn't mean it that way. Doesn't matter though.
We already had a round of fun on this thread, all got deleted. I'm waiting for dthomas=ddixon to come over with some babywipes, she is in for a treat!
Can we close this already?

First to answer the initial question NO ! BB has stated several times he wants to play with the best, why would he get excited to see LB out?
Second Why get so defensive when others respond? I don’t see that anyone took a simple question and turned it. “MB might be making it sound worse “”Out of all the shady things coaches do to lure recruits, I think this would be one of the less shady things” This looks pretty plain to me that you think MB is prepared to do something shady.
Last, Why attack the board that you chose to post on? I have watched multiple dialogs of disagreement on this board but dialog did occur. You almost come across as if you were digging for something deeper then got punked. The only posts I have seen deleted have been in violation of the rules, not because the mods didn’t share your point of view.
With that I say - get a grip man & GO DUCKS
