Bryce Brown---head case or not?

Post by justducky0 »

I really think this kid is really down to earth and on Snoop's level. Because lets think about this. The only bad news about him have come from Butler..who as we have seen might not be the best guy. Anything Butler has said negative was refuted by Brown..also brown talks about how much his relationship with god is important to his decision.. I really think this kid is a classy guy

The headcases are the media who are covering him.

Actually I think the headcases are the idiots who let what this kid thinks on a specific day at a specifc time impact them. The media people are just trying to make a buck.

I get the impression that Brown is level-headed and is thinking about this in a mature, objective way.

I don't think Butler has had a fair shake either. Not really sure what he did wrong. I think maybe people just got their undies in a bunch because they think he is influencing Brown's decision away from them? I don't know.

I think people question Butler so much because of the things he was quoted as saying in the NYTIMES article. Like the CFL 5 million a year for 3 years thing, and trying to charge 9.99 a month for potentialplayers just for Bryce updates.

I didn't read the context of the CFL comment. Did Butler say that? He seemed emphatic on his site that it was not true. So, it doesn't seem like it came from him?

And I don't understand why people object to him charging for reports on a recruit when several other businesses do also?

I think the NY Times just lampooned him. But, the NY Times, if they had their way, would probably disban the entire NCAA and spend the football money on solar panels for outhouses. So, when they write a negative article about someone, I tend to suspect that the person probably deserves praise.

Yeah I dont know if the CFL thing was just a joke taken out of context or if he was being serious before really knowing anything about the CFL. The NY Times did make him out to sound like a scum bag but at the same time his connections with Miami did help some kids get scholarships at major programs, even if they did use "Miami verbal scholarships" to boost recruitment. I think the whole pay site rubbed people the wrong way because the site pretty much revolves around Bryce Brown now.

He doesn't sound like a head case in any of the interviews I have heard.

I think you're right on that...a reporter brought up the question, without Butler having even previously thought of the CFL. So his comments were only in response to the original question.

A lot of people are saying that. Not trying to give you a hard time about it. I'm just curious what it is specifically that people have a problem with? Why is Butler a head case?

Butler has worked with many other ncaa recruits and in the past he has lied and used fake offers from schools, such as Miami, to bolster a recruits appeal to other D-1 schools. In one of the cases in particular he supposedly was "Advising" one of his HS sr. clients and he knew that the kid was not a solid D-1 recruit, so he lied and said that his client had an offer from Miami, which was false, because he thought that if other schools saw that Miami had offered him that maybe some other D-1 schools would take a second or even possibly a first look at his client. Now it is a pretty crafty and honorable thing to want your client to get in to a big name school, but what's not honorable is lying and bending the rules to accomadate your client.

If I remember correctly didn't he also tell players to claim they had offers when they didn't? What a great message to give young men, lie to get what you want.

I like Brown, every interview of HIM not Butler I'm impressed. And his recruitment to me seems to be more about him finally making his own decisions and checking other schools versus Butler cramming Miami down his throat. Long shot he goes to Miami IMO.
