Home game against Weber St. Wtf is Weber State?
Can't say I'm very happy that we're playing in the CBI (where any team can buy their way in). That being said, if this is what the players want, then so be it. Just don't lose to a no-name school.

“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Nice to see Oregon get another home, albeit in a pay-to-play tournament. Oregon should be energized a bit after the way they played this past weekend and it being another home game.

Eh, it may be trivial, but at least it's more tournament style experience for the young guys.uostudent wrote:Home game against Weber St. Wtf is Weber State?

Opportunity for the ducks to end on a high note going into next year. I'm cool with it. Go ducks!

Student Weber St is a Big Sky team from Utah. They actually have made some waves in the NCAA a couple times.

I dont know why anybody would wish we turned down an opportunity to get the guys more experience, its more games, more practices, and even a chance to finish at least .500 on the season. Its not like we would have gained anything by not going.Boom wrote:Ya, I kinda wish we turned it down.uostudent wrote:Home game against Weber St. Wtf is Weber State?

Good for the guys on the team. Pretty sad if you'd want these guys, especially after all their hard work this season, to miss out on playing a few more games & getting some great experience just because the tourny isn't up to your standards. Who cares, the players are probably pumped & I'm sure Altman is really glad to have at least another week of practice with these guys.

Yeah, I agree. I have no idea why anyone would want us to "turn it down." I guess they don't like Oregon basketball? About the only thing I can think of.
Maybe we should turn down our bowl game next if we fail to make the BCS again?

It's nice that they get to play more basketball, but for me this is more about the team getting more experience than wins or losses. Let's be honest, nobody cares about the CBI.

Weber State's best player is better than anybody I can name to ever play for oregon. I don't mean that as an insult, really. I can name aaron brooks and that's about it, i guess. but he broke his foot (i think). in any event, he's injured for the season. guy is smooth and silky. damien lillard. he will be nba for sure.
i follow weber state basketball pretty closely. they have a few guys who can shoot 3s. a few guys play good defense. they run stew morrill's offense (utah state's coach). think of them like a mini-wisconsin that can run it sometimes. that running aspect isn't as big a threat since lillard is out.
weber also played @ smc after the conference tournaments in order to give weber enough total games to allow lillard to qualify for a medical redshirt.
anyway, weber is a top 75 team with lillard. without, they are above sjsu and idaho, but below ucsb.
