I've watched a tiny bit of CFL, but can't say I'm an expert. That being said, USC's defense is absolutely as good as some professional teams. Most of their starters get drafted for the NFL! That's pretty good evidence for my argument. If they can get drafted after the season, they could certainly play on a CFL defense during the season. Of course I'm generalizing a bit, but whatever. The CFL is for players that can't cut it in the NFL, but are still good enough to be pros. Most of USC's defense CAN cut it in the pros.

Again I agree USC defense and offense, for that matter, will get a lot of guys drafted but while they may look like men they are still growing and getting stronger and have a lot to learn at the pro level. Remember these guys are only in college for 3-5 years and many of them only just "get it" in their JR and SR years so you can only imagine that after some pro level development and training just how much better they are...and no, no matter how good a college team is they can not compete with a Pro team but I would agree that the CFL and NFL are different levels aswell just not as much as you'd think!

There is definately a talent gap between CFL and NFL, but someone already pointed out, Ricky Williams wasn't exactly a star up here. It's the same game but it's different. The field being wider and longer and 3 downs is what would affect American players the most, and the no fair catch rule. Running backs need to be able to get to the outside and catch the football, and likewise linebackers are expected to cover the pass more and play sideline to sideline.

Would this be a smart move for Brown? Absolutely not. Is it going to happen? Absolutely not.

USC vs. a CFL team, I'd pay to see that.
