Yep. We've left the sacks juiced twice since I last said that we're blowing too many opportunities.

Well, bottom of the 9th, down 6-4, two runners in scoring position for the Ducks after a Petersen sacrifice. One out.

Let's see how we'll find a way to not score in this situation.

Any of you who are familiar with my basketball reverse-jinxes can thank me later.

Alto win a 2-strike, 2-out single that ties the game!

Finally! Now win this game. One win in a game like this could completely change the season around.

Truth. Clutch, late game hitting is hard to come by, but it's contageous once it does.

A great grab by the third baseman and an even better dive at the bag beats the runner and we're going to extras.

Going to the 11th...

Wichita is down to a reliever who tops out in the low 80s, and he punched out the heart of our order 1-2-3. Blah.

Going to the bottom of the 12th.

We just had baseball's version of a make-up call. Oregon got called out previously in the game for a ball hitting the batter after contact while still in the box, but the same thing happens to Wichita in their half of the 12th, and he's awarded first base. Moen goes to pick off the runner, but not only does the runner beat the tag to the base, Kuresa also blatantly drops the ball; but the runner is called out.

I believe our last 8 batters have grounded out, against this soft-tossing freshman.

Top of the 15th and an ongoing Oregon record for longest game.

C'mon, MCGoo!!

BTW - I actually played in a 13-inning game in HS - 1-1 tie, some of the team had a choir concert that night.

WSU coach ejected along with 3 players in the top of the 16th.

Both Head Coaches are out for tomorrow's game but do the three WSU players also have to sit after an ejection?

Ducks lose in 17.

That was about as unprofessional of a game from an umpiring standpoint as I've ever seen, regardless of level. Jaynes was ripping on them throughout, which I thought was great. You could tell by the 16th that they were done, and the home plate umpire shrunk the strike zone beyond belief, for both teams. In the top of the 17, McGough was punching the corners perfectly, but everything was a ball. After Wichita scored, the zone expanded again, and Wichita's pitcher was getting K's for anything remotely adjacent to the zone. Really, astonishingly, unprofessional. I mentioned the 'make up' call earlier; unconscionable for baseball, this isn't hoops. BOTH managers tossed, Horton's from the dugout? What? Jaynes was spot on, if a manager isn't picking nits continually over balls and strikes (which he wasn't), the umpire needs to grow thicker skin. You can't throw everybody out of the game because they disagree with you.

Sounds like a real tough way to lose a game. Ump sounds like he played more a role than he should have.
