Oversensitive? Maybe a little. This is the internet after all. But since I think your post was mean-spirited, I thought I should say something about it. It's not a super big deal though by any measure, I'm with you on that.
The dude doesn't post a lot. He may not know that this has been said before, or maybe he felt it needed repeating. I have no idea. And I definitely disagree with him. But I really do think he was sharing an opinion, and that IS the purpose of this board. It may not of been the most thought-out opinion, but it's an opinion and a discussion topic nonetheless.
It's totally fine to comment on his opinion. Hell, I was commenting on your comment of his comment (hah). My issues with it were I thought it was wrong and that it was presented kind of rudely, and it really didn't need to be.
Sometimes you can't flatter someone when you're trying to defend someone. But there's a difference between saying you were rude and you saying he's just seeking attention, namean?
I didn't really want to take the time to quote individual parts of your post, but I think you'll get what points each of my paragraphs were referring to.
And I should probly add that I do like your posts. They're usually smart and well thought-out, even if sometimes they're kinda pessimistic. This time I just thought that you were a little mean.
I could see how someone might take it as rude. Though, I didn't say that he was just seeking attention. I threw that out there as a possibility. But, if he has some other reason that I didn't throw out there, there's no need to be offended by theories that don't apply to him. There would only be motivation to clarify.
Looking back at the thread. It sure seems like there were other responses that were closer to mean-spiritedness than my post.
On another note, I don't remember being pessimistic about anything Duck related. When have I been pessimistic in posts? Just curious.. Maybe I have!
so you sit there, contemplating what you should say next, when she tells you that she's ready to leave him for you. You are ecstatic. You tell her that you are ready to take your relationship to the next level. She says she still needs to think things over, but you are in the lead. She says she needs to sleep on it, and you give her a kiss goodnight and drive home...You still talk to her and see her every now and again, but she hasn't made a decision. It's so frustrating to think how she could even be thinking this over. This other guy has lots of potential, but he just makes bad decision after bad decision and drives his life into the ground (*cough*shannon*cough*) Meanwhile, you are a very good-looking guy who just graduated from college, and has friends in VERY high places. Your future is looking great, this other guy has a dead-end job at Cold Stone Ice Creamery. You keep thinking to yourself, I should just leave her...but this woman will complete you, she's more than just a lover to you, she's your best friend. You can talk to her about anything, you know that she will always love you, you know this is the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. She is what could take you life to the next level.
