I was reading the other day that Price has helped mentor Lillard for the past 3 years starting when Price was in Utah. For that reason alone that was an awesome move to give DL a "veteran" voice he's comfortable with.

Figured this was more appropriate for Blazers than Olympics. Joel Freeland scored 25 today against Spain and primarily Pau Gasol guarding him. Looked good running the floor and showed a lot of very good post moves that scored moving to the right and left.

I watched a couple minutes and Freeland didn't pretty well against Pau, had a nice spin move on him and also saw him hit a three. The couple minutes I saw of him gave me some hope for this season coming up.

Did?

That's good to hear, if we want to make playoffs (which I think is still possible), we need guys like Freeland to chip in.

Anyone from Lithuania worth getting? The forward, Kleiza, had 25 today.

I stayed up late to watch the Spain and Russia game, what a comeback by Russia down 20-2. It was a game of ex blazers, Victor Khryapa had a big second half including a three to tie it late finished with 12 points and 4 3's. Sergie Monia only had three points but it was a big three point play in Russia's comeback, Rudy Fernandez had 10 points 6 rebounds and even Sergio Rodriguez had 8 points including playing almost all of the fourth quarter. Pau missed a foul shot late when they were down two that pretty much ended Spain's chance, it was a great comeback by the Russians.

it wasn't *really* all that random, he was on olshey/allen's shortlist from the get-go and kept making the cuts.

good offensive mind. hard/pointless to go into his previous head coaching gigs, neither milwaukee or atlanta had any talent.

hopefully the hire plays to the strengths of what we have out on the court.

Considering I haven't heard much about him until the hire, that is random by my account. Not to mention, he is close to a no name in the coaching world with poor and short previous head coaching jobs.

Blazers are in full on rebuild mode now

Hopefully this means a top pick in next years draft.
