Re: Mariners
According to this profile he was batting .261 before the trade and has batted .322 since the trade: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/pl ... iro-suzukithomas time wrote:I don't think Ichiro is hitting 322 since the trade, his average for the season is at 267 and that's about what it was when the mariners traded him. Almost every game he's going either 1-3 or 1-4, his on base percentage this month is 322.

Re: Mariners
Oh, it was written after 26 games and he has now played 34 games, so maybe that explains the difference.uodux1212 wrote:That's messed up! On a side note Darwin Barney set the national league record for second basemen of 114 consecutive games without an error. Barney was initially charged with an error, but after the inning the official scorer gave the miscue to Valbuena. That allowed Barney to extend his streak of consecutive errorless games at second base to 114 games, breaking the National League record of 113 games set by San Diego's David Eckstein in 2010.

Errors can be subjective though.. Congrats to him though, that is impressive.thomas time wrote:On a side note Darwin Barney set the national league record for second basemen of 114 consecutive games without an error. Mariners just lost in 18 innings, go 0-17 with runners in scoring postion. They gave up 2 in the ninth to tie it, had allowed only two hits going into the ninth.

Re: Mariners
Ichiro is no longer playing daily (something he refused to do in Seattle) and batting lower in the lineup. I'm glad for him, but he really could have done the same in Seattle if he could have set his pride aside.

Re: Mariners
Ich went 7-8 last night in a doubleheader with 4 steals in the second game alone. Baltimore won again last night in extra's and I heard their bullpen e.r.a. is under one in extra innings this year. Also since I'm a braves fan one of their pitchers Kris Medlen has a e.r.a. of 0.76 since joining the rotation in July, and the braves have won 21 straight starts by him.

Ichiro with a double and homer tonight, and three rbis. He looks like he might be getting going for the yankees down the stretch.

Re: Mariners
mariners are 72-81, with ten games remaining (6 LAA, 3 Oak). i'd love to put the nail in anaheim's coffin, there's just something hilarious about the angels pumping all that money into that franchise and ending up with the same amount of playoff games as us.
i'm glad we didn't lose 100 games again.

Re: Mariners
Ichiro is on a roll right now, just had a run of five straight games with at least two hits. My braves clinched a playoff berth tonight with a two run ninth and now makes it 22 straight games the team has won when Kris Medlen starts. That ties the record since 1920, in his 11 starts this year opponents clean up hitters are 7-50 with 0 extra base hits. He's thrown 77 innings in those 11 starts giving up only 9 runs, including 3 straight shutouts.

Re: Mariners
well, season ends tonight. m's go 75-87, which isn't terrible considering we play in one of, if not the, best divisions in baseball.
felix's perfect game is obviously the highlight of the season; the combined no-hitter was incredible, too. getting perfect-gamed was probably the lowlight.
ackley didn't make the jump forward i was hoping for, but i think he's in for a big 2013. montero had a fine first full season in the majors; i think he shows a lot of promise. smoak was terrible for most of the season before having a monster september; i'm about done with the guy. seager's been a nice find. the best defensive team in baseball is always a treat to watch out in the field.
109 HRs in 2011, 149 in 2012. the increase in power was nice to see. the organization has already declared that they are moving in the fences next season.
