I feel great! Rivals has us listed at 18th. If someone told me that back in Dec i would have slapped them stupid! Funny thing tho, i could not find UW on the list there. Needs an update i suppose.

The next recruiting class should be very interesting to see.
This is how I feel. Artis/Falo are the two I wish we could have pulled in that we had a really solid chance at, but to even be in the convo for Artis that late in the game is credit to our staff.
This +1.
We were clearly close with Falo but I imagine Reaves DUII didn't help us much there. I'm not as worried about the edge rusher on this. I think Moi, Hollins, etc. will easily fill that gap and didn't think a frosh would be a huge difference maker in 2017. This will likely hurt us in 2018 but let's hope that changes.
TE depth is a major concern. We have 2 legit TE's, we'll be converting Mattingly and will likely have to move someone else to TE for shear depth. However, if WT doesn't play double tights much than this isn't really as big of an issue.
I mostly agree.

Good class, but missing at TE isn't really acceptable. There were plenty of guys, including Moses Robinson who was committed.

Falo should have been the second TE, not the only option.

If they get a TE, even a low three star, I give the class an A-

Without TE, an essential need, I think we drop to B-

It's a fundamental issue.

Not worried about Artis, Falaniko or Thompson FWIW

Don't disagree. We screwed the pooch at TE. However, seeing as our TE coach FCK'd us with a DUII last minute, that's a tough one to overcome.
My guess is they move Briscoe to TE but could look at Winston too as we'll need the depth not just for 17' but 18' as well assuming Mattingly is serviceable in 17'.

In fairness, I think Mattingly could be stellar at that position and seriously challenge both Breeland and McCormick as the starter. HIs issue isn't physical ability but instincts on defense. He has the hands, speed and size.

Scout has us at #16. Not bad at all! Wish we had got Falo but otherwise a very nice class.

Already looking forward to next years with this coaching staff.

Yup, like a few have mentioned. Next years class will tell us a lot more about Taggart. I personally like what I see so far! Made us a very serious player with some kids we probably had no business contending for with our season, coaching changes, and off season negative national attention.

After Taggart hired such a great staff, I kind of hoped he'd prove himself to be a miracle worker and we'd wind up in the top 15. Don't know how close we actually were on some of the names that could have got us there, but still we got a pretty deep class, and I'm happy enough. I think we got some solid guys on defense. Not quite elite at any position group, but close in the db spot, really solid linebackers, and some d-lineman that could really blossom. Would have liked an edge pass rusher.

Offense, love Verdell. Love Moore. Love Redd. But not a great offensive recruiting year for us.
Did you forget about Burmeister?
Honestly, don't know what to make of him. Killer high school stats. He's stuck behind a young qb and is going to have to fight off a highly ranked guy in 2018. I don't think he's an obvious major contributor as a starter. I think he's a gamer, and I'm glad we got him, but he's going to have to beat out some serious competition. There's only one quarterback. Here's hoping he's a great one. But I'm not sure how many fans would call him a no-brainer star. That's where I'm at.

Kinda been meaning to bring up that it seems more-n-more in recruiting that you got to get at guys early and build relationships. Sure there's always going to be last minute switches and whatnot, but the majority of the classes get built months ahead of signing day. When we were sitting on basically no commits at the beginning of last summer, other schools were rolling. We played catch-up pretty well, but then our season went South, and Taggart had to come in and salvage. Kids are committing so early nowadays. Here's what Taggart's short time has taught us: we won't get out-worked for recruits. Nobody will be able to complain about complacency. Add a nice 2017 season, and a positive narrative to recruiting, and we're going to be in great shape.

I think Burmeister is going to surprise some people. Obviously, I don't think he'll beat out Herbert but I do think he's better than Jonsen and Wilson. He's a tough kid and a leader and he loves Oregon. The stats he put up speak for themselves, but he's got all the tools you want in a starting QB, especially in the Taggart system. Give him a year or two and he'll be in the conversation to start...hell, he'll be pushing people as soon as this spring IMO.

Very happy with this class. Very very happy. Got some beef on the d line. Got a great haul of defensive backs. Sure you would like to see a d end or two but we can live without. Solid group of backers. What really gets me excited though is that most all of the top rated guys are on the defensive side of the ball. We need talent and we got some today.

This class is good, especially the time restraints WT and Co. had. Missing Falo and Artis does hurt a lot, I think if WT and Co. were recruiting them from the beginning we would of had them. Never had expectations for guys like Carr or G. Johnson so don't consider them misses. Excited for '18.

I really hope Stack beats out Ian Wheeler. If he doesn't were in a load of trouble. Wheeler might be the worst punter I have ever seen. Please no more 25 yard punts with 0 hangtime

This class is average for UO and lower on average player ranking than we need it to be to get where we want. Seems like several project type players with some really quality guys for the defense. Because Tag did it with no staff at times and behind the eight ball the rest...I give him a B. He had a chance to knock it out of the park and couldn't get it done (just too many hurdles). Gets a pass this year but Oregon needs to win some of those battle late battles next year and in the future.

Feeling pretty damn great. With Helf's job in lingo since about Week 6, I had a feeling this class would start falling apart and we'd be lucky to land a Top 40 class. Willie & Co. really went to work and hit the recruiting trail HARD! Outside of losing two TE commitments, the new coaching staff not only retained the guys recruited from the old staff but found a way to find some gems in Florida and California.

The fact that we had the second best class in the Pac-12, given our season and coaching turnover, is downright amazing! I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in 2018.
