Assuming we take 30 this is what I would do. This is my dream/realistic scenario. Let me know if I missed anyone.
QB: Tyler Shough (1)
RB: Jamal Elliot, Travis Dye (2)
WR: Warren Thompson, Devon Williams, Jalen Hall, Miles Battle, Tre'Shaun Harrison, Jaylen Waddle (6)
TE: Michael Ezeike, Spencer Webb (2)
OL: Peinei Sewell, Steven Jones, Dawson Jaramillo, Christopher Randazzo, Justin Johnson (5)
DL: Malcolm Lamar, Jonathan King, Teagan Quitoriano, Mohamed Diallo (4)
LB: Adrian Jackson, Andrew Johnson, MJ Cunningham, Eli’jah Winston (4)
CB: Isaiah Bolden, Braden Lenzy, Verone McKinley III (3)
S: Steve Stephens, Jevon Holland, Talanoa Hufanga (3)
Just missed the cut: Chase Cota, Marquez Ezzard

ya I would pick those 3 wr's with Winston and Hufanga, but what if Sewell goes to USC or BAMA who would you go after for the last spot?

I think you have to take Cota. I would take Cota over Hall. Hall is a 5* who has improved nominally in the last 2 years. He's not even the best receiver on his HS team. A lot of the USC boards say they are not even recruiting him any longer.Phenom wrote:Assuming we take 30 this is what I would do. This is my dream/realistic scenario. Let me know if I missed anyone.

I think Waddle is a LONG shot, but feels like DAT....

I think we're tripping Sam Tiamini (sp) in January just in case.thomas time wrote:ya I would pick those 3 wr's with Winston and Hufanga, but what if Sewell goes to USC or BAMA who would you go after for the last spot?

I believed what the USC boards said about Hall, and then I saw his highlight film...holy hell! They say that about every player who doesn't sign with them. Check what they were saying about Graham and Lenoir last year.jimmy12 wrote:I think you have to take Cota. I would take Cota over Hall. Hall is a 5* who has improved nominally in the last 2 years. I also think Waddle is a longshot (Cota can take his spot) but this is still going to be his 3rd time visiting. That's gotta count for something.

I'm another Cota over Hall vote. I question Hall's speed, whereas Cota has the same 40 time as Waddle. His highlight didn't scream 5 star to me or anywhere near Harrison's for that matter. I admittedly don't follow recruiting that closely, was Hall a standout at the Open?

Teagan plays DE? I thought he was a TE or LB. I would advocate for another DE if he plays something else.
6 WR's seems like a lot.... I'd rather get another ILB since MJ is our only ILB commit and the rest are OLBs?
Unless someone moves inside, we have only Dye, Niu, ISM, MJ, and Apelu (pls no) inside. That's an injury or 2 away from catastrophe.
Any chance we get a 3rd RB? Are we also creating a logjam at TE unless we use more 2 TE formations? Breeland and McCormick are still young and they seem to have good potential.

Re: Who do you take? How many spots are there?
Teagan is one of those swing Ends who could play either side of the ball depending on how he grows and what the coaches see. With his BB acumen I'd say put him on offense first and see if those rebounding skills translate to making big catches. Breeland will be a JR next year so when we start using redshirts the TE class will balance out.ducks5ever wrote:Teagan plays DE? I thought he was a TE or LB. I think most would prefer if we could pick up an extra DL or ILB but I don't think any are a realistic flip at this point so they just want to get as much talent as they can get. Dye could be a 3 year player but I would look at his transition from outside to inside to feel better about the coaches sliding a younger player inside. I think with Travis Dye and the redshirt RB's we're going to be just fine at the position next year.

Re: Who do you take? How many spots are there?
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I saw a Florida RB recently showed interest in us. We'll have plenty of lightening RB's next year but idk if we'll have the thunder to go with it as well... maybe Verdell or Cyrus
I'm also not taking this class as it stands for granted and I'm definitely thankful for the class the staff has put together so far

- I think Teagan is a DE just because we have two other great TE prospects and I like his potential as a 3-4 DE.ducks5ever wrote:Teagan plays DE? I thought he was a TE or LB. I would advocate for another DE if he plays something else.

- I think Adrian Jackson ends up inside. I could see him playing the position that Dye is playing. I actually expect Hufanga (if he comes here) to play the "DUCK" position that Winston and Fotu are playing.
- 6 WRs might seem like a lot but it's a big position of need and they are all extremely talented and some of them are versatile and can end up playing elsewhere. I can see a couple of guys on the roster transferring too.
- We are already playing with a lot of 2 TE formations.
- I don't think we need another RB. Next year we'll 6 scholarship RBs (not counting Judson) and a bunch of guys that we can use in the run game (Taj, McNeal, Redd, Harrison, etc.).

At this point, the only ones they don't turn away are Hufanga and Sewell. After that, they'll need to prioritize which recruits have a guaranteed spot.

Agreed! I was on Twitter the other day and a random person asked someone like Nemec (I can’t remember who) and the numbers were all over the place but the highest I heard was we take 30-31. Honestly give me those two and one my wideout and I’ll be happy, but if we have space for 6 more then there’s a very real chance of us scoring a really REALLY good class.greenyellow wrote:At this point, the only ones they don't turn away are Hufanga and Sewell. I think we’ll end up with 32.

^....hear hear GY! These 2 are priority one must gets for WT. They would be the "cherries on top" of the best Duck recruiting class EVER!greenyellow wrote:At this point, the only ones they don't turn away are Hufanga and Sewell.
