Except that it's poor taste. How would you like it if you were all excited about getting a full ride to college and excited to be a part of this great team and then you google your name for the heck of it and find some assbag who doesn't know you from adam, talking negetively about you??? AND this is the type of fan he's excited to be able to perform for and show his stuff??

duckgrad99: I don't know you, and I am not directing the "ass bag" towards you completely, however, you have to admit, maybe that sort of comment could be kept to yourself OR reworded like: WOW! We offered a guy that isn't on any of the recruiting information sites and I haven't ever heard anything about him... I sure hope he comes in and kicks some ass! and leave it at that.

WRONGO!

This site should operate with a little more class out of it's posters.... otherwise we might as well go hang out on scout....

Think about the people you're writing about. You want someone putting YOU down who doesn't know you or what you're all about?

I understand, let's move on. :) I never said that I hope he fails. I just said that his offer was strange and that I'm just not excited about this commit, especially with all of the Boyd, Brown, Harris, etc news. I really do hope any Oregon recruit excels, I just don't understand signing someone offered by programs like Sacramento State.

If I was a committed recruit, I would have absolutely no problem with someone saying I was too skinny and didn't have many good offers. I would know both were obviously true, and I would continue to go about my business.

This site should operate with class. Which means telling people to shut up should be looked down upon. And not being 110% complimentary should be okay.

In the future, let's be a little more tolerant of opinions we don't like, k?

Why is it that whenever someone posts a differing opinion on this site, they are attacked and told to go to scout or oregonlive? Shouldn't they be allowed to post their opinion as long as they are not flaming?

CLASSY! Thanks for not turning it into a squabble! Who knows why we offer some of the guys we do? Maybe family friend connections, maybe insider information... I hope we get all we want for christmas too and a great season next year!

If I attacked, my apologies. Not intended, just want to point out that it's fair game to call someone on posting something that could be negatively interpreted and reflects poorly on our fan base.

I don't think anyone would take offense to being called to task for that. I could be wrong.

Personally I like the name Keaton Arden and I like him already just for that without knowing any solid info other than that. He wants to play for our ducks and that works for me.

How old are you, 10? THere is no rule that says I have to love every Oregon recruit.
I'm old enough to be your father and smart enough not to bag a new commit on a public web site. I never said you had to love, or even like a commit. Show some class....How about this..." I'm a little suprised with this. Kid looks like he has a good frame. The coaches must see something. Maybe the next Chung or Igor!. Welcome aboard" ..... Probably not your style though, right?

Tray- I'm sorry if I missed someone telling another to "shut up" because I didn't see it (probably over looked) and I don't necessarily disagree with what you are saying either. However, I'd want a fair shake from a group of adults who don't know me if I'm an 18 year old kid excited to play for your team. Again, with the minimal ammount of solid information available online, would you appreciate it if someone was putting YOU down who didn''t know you or what you're all about?

I don't think you were attacking at all but he has been getting blasted all day in several topics. It's his opinion and he shouldn't have to "shut his pie hole". I don't see anything wrong with this statement. 'I wish the kid the best, but I just cannot get excited about this recruit.'

I just re-read the entire thread (which I didn't do to begin with). My apologies for beating a dead horse to all. Back on topic!!

This is a very surprising offer and maybe might not be a good sign cause CK must think we are losing a kid we wanted...but i hope he ends up well and does great! Has anyone seen him play in person or has some vid on him? i would like to see his style of play

Give me a recruit any day that wants to be a Duck!! He wants to be here and he is willing to work hard to better himself. I will admit that I am just like everyone else and I get wrapped up in the number of STARS that a recruit garners. With that said Oregon has has great success turning 2 and 3 STAR players into GREAT players. Welcome to Oregon young man... Go Ducks.

You also need to recognize that chung was a two star because he was 16 his senior year of high school. he was 2-3 years younger than the kids he was playing with at the time but he panned out. Hopefully this kid can do the same, he just looks like a major work in progress from his physical attributes. we'll see but the glad you have allow a lotti quote was pretty hilarious.
