This is going to be a fun finish. It feels like there is still a ton of talent out there.

I am very surprised that he rated his visit a 15... Does anyone know who his hosts were?

Re: Lache Seastrunk
One thing that worried me today was a comment on Rob Moseley's blog (by Rob) responding to a reader's question:
"Ed: I mentioned Seastrunk’s presence in my Saturday practice report. People are talking about it plenty on other message boards, just not here because I don’t spend much time on recruiting until after the season. Please be careful before you say things like “nobody is talking about X ” and “not a peep about Y.” You better be reading every last word of my coverage, print and online, before you make those accusations.
That said, I’ve heard mixed reviews about the visit. He’s a very charismatic, confident kid, which can rub some folks the wrong way. I thought it was odd he was chatting on his cell phone quite a bit during practice Saturday. "
I hope that's normal for that age group. If I were Kelly, I wouldn't like that very much.

Re: Lache Seastrunk
Maybe he was telling his parents how much he loved it in Eugene. Maybe Chip was aware of the specifics of the phone call and was fine with it. We can't know these things. It's probably best not to read too much into it and not fret about it.

We all loved JJ and he had some of these same exact personality traits - because he was ours. Not saying Lache is another JJ, but perspective about personalities is always interesting. I bet a lot of the Pac-10 teams did not care for JJ and his abundant "confidence" during games - yet we loved it because he worked hard and played hard and had fun doing it AND he was a Duck. Not sure what to make of the phone issue, but we don't know the particulars of that either.

As long as he wasn't talking to Lane Kiffin I'm fine with it.

Re: Lache Seastrunk
Why does it matter if he was on the phone. He was there to get a feel for the program, see how they practice, check out the facilites, etc., not to learn the playbook.

Re: Lache Seastrunk
I don't think there's anything to worry about with him talking on his cell phone. He's on a visit and doesn't have to pay complete attention to the practice. Like someone said before, he could have been talking to his parents or friends about how nice the facilities and the visit were. At least he visited, which is more than we can say about some others.

Re: Lache Seastrunk
I've read quite of bit about LS over the last few months. Moseley is right as Lache has a way of drawing a lot of attention to himself, thus creating a fair amount of controversy. He has a tendency to say what folks want to hear which does make one wonder how sincere his flattering remarks were re his visit. For now all we can do is hope he meant every word and that we are right there with 2-3 other schools.
Now if I had to pick between 2 backs - Seastrunk & Lattimore - the latter would be a no brainer. Not sure if it will even come down to that as we may not get either, but everything I've read re Marcus paints a different picture than Seastrunk. He would be a great addition to our team while I feel the bright lights of LA would suit someone like Seastrunk's personality a little better. In the end it's great that we have a shot at the 2 highest rated RBs in the country. Shows how far we've come as a program.

While this might be true, I saw a few pictures of Lache on rivals.com at the practice field, and of the few pictures of him, he was never on the phone.MacDuck wrote:I've read quite of bit about LS over the last few months. And even if he was talking on his phone a lot, if that's really all Moseley is basing the 'mixed' part his visit, then I'm not worried. Come on, I'm texting half the time during the duck game and I'll talk on the phone a few times throughout a game. Does that mean I'm not interested, serious, or paying attention to the game?
As for Marcus vs Lache. Marcus would IMO fit our depth chart better right now. He'd be the perfect guy to complement LMA. He's bigger and stronger. However Lache on the other hand is a very shifty, fast running back. When you watch his highlights you get giddy because you know he'd thrive in our offense. Tbh, I'd be stoked about either. Marcus might compliment LMA better, but I actually think Lache might be the better fit for our system. That's my 2 cents on watching a few highlight videos and reading some scouting reports on them.

I agree with both of you, the truth is though that we could miss on these guys and be just fine!! T.K the bottom of your post says it all.. And if we miss on L.S and M.L you can just add their names as well.UOducksTK1 wrote:While this might be true, I saw a few pictures of Lache on rivals.com at the practice field, and of the few pictures of him, he was never on the phone.MacDuck wrote:I've read quite of bit about LS over the last few months. OK, first time that I have actually watched his highlights.Diehardduckfan wrote:I thought so too, but of course if you look at his highlight video you can't help but be amazed at his break away speed and amazing agility. One of the best if not the best highlight video of any running back this year. Even Lattimore.

Still a coveted player by me and others despite the fact of his poor statistics this year.
How fun would it be to watch him carrying the ball for the ducks? That kid has an incredible burst. He really looks like he would be ready to contribute on day 1. I wonder if there is any truth to that ESPN article about him possibly committing.
