The "leverage" is not dealing him for a subpar offer lol there's no little digital D-Rob holding a gun to their headofftheheezy wrote:Oh I completely agree, DRob should have gone for more, but not sure if the Pacers had any leverage if nobody else was offering anythingUOducksTK1 wrote:offtheheezy wrote:Didn’t realize Rose was so highly regarded I’d much rather take Stackhouse
Win for the Nuggets, but also don’t see a need for veto. DRob’s been on the trade block for 2-3 seasons now
It’s not necessarily about Rowe vs Stackhouse. I feel like Nugs only gave up one of their top 4 young pieces for the best center in the league. How he didn’t at least get two of his top 4 pieces is boggling to me.
But good for Nugs for playing it right.

True, but you also run the risk of wasting his talent his whole career with nothing to show for it, or worst case scenario he doesn’t resign and gets signed by a shady team like the nets (see Ralph Sampson)

Drob/Vaught is a fantastic starting point to build championship team. If they tried as hard to compete as they did to move Drob, they could have been a contender.

Re: Pacers / Nuggets
They had the same team for like years and didn't even make the playoffs last year and DRob is now 30. This is a better package than the in-prime Lane honestly, albeit Lane is worse than DRob

If they did try to compete they would be in a good position now but they haven’t for the last couple of years

Agreed. Sign some expirings, trade them and a pick or two for a solid starter.dd10snoop28 wrote:Drob/Vaught is a fantastic starting point to build championship team. If they tried as hard to compete as they did to move Drob, they could have been a contender.
They went from a #2 seed from year before to 12th pick. Mainly cuz there was no forward progress at all. Could easily be a top 4 team in the East with minimal moves.
And rebuilding in a time when everyone else is rebuilding? Makes no sense.

This is a valid point though, I think they could've easily competed with better moves by trading their picks, but that's up to the GM I guess.UOducksTK1 wrote:Agreed. I think the more interesting thing is that you’re always hating on everyone. It’s everyone else’s problem until you get good dealsdd10snoop28 wrote:only lukey/heezy be defending the Nuggets because they have done the same in the past!
