I know that was just his sophmore highlight film but other than just pure top end speed I was really unimpressed...He showed lack of balance and just average coordination

You are a hard man to impress. I was very impressed by his vision, his speed burst, his patience following his blockers and how well he juked. Does anyone have a highlight video of Dontae Williams?

I agree on the burst...He's running out of the single and t wing sets so vision and his patience are really not evident as there's just big holes...And how he juked?...when exactly did he do that...The only time he really juked anyone when he was one on one at full speed and them in a pursuit angle and all he used was a hesitation, that didn't work most the time...Any time he actually came at a defender and tried to juke laterally it looked terribly unorthodox and he either lost his balance or it didn't work at all...obviously like I said this is his sophmore highlights so who knows...And also this is very little film, the scouts and coaches have seen alot more...I'm not saying I don't trust them and or he's not good, I'm just saying what I saw in this video was unimpressive other than his speed

It sounds like you have a much more informed opinion of the matter than I do. So, for what it is worth...these are the moments that impressed me in the video.

:42sec mark. Great bounce to the outside and a nice juke.
:52 he looked good making the guy miss... not sure if it would qualify as a juke though...
1:23 another impressive change of direction / lateral move / juke...
1:40 was just an impressive run. I liked the way he froze the DB at the end.
1:50 I was impressed with patience behind his blocker.
2:36 was a great run. Some effective juking.
3:27 showed some good vision.
4:16 had some nice moves.

But in the end, I think that it is his speed once he decides to turn it on that really impresses me the most.

FWIW, this response is not intended to be snooty or anything. I am just extremely bored and didn't mind watching that video again.

No argueing L.S. and M.L. are impressive backs, but I'm more then contented with LMJ and Dontae Williams. One with the breakaway speed and the other providing the power, throw in Barner, we're in good shape for next years run to the NC

getting 1 more RB in this class will be nice, Im sure LMJ or Barner could be banged up/get Injured in next season. You never know.

Well if you find a better highlight video of another running back this year let me know. Lattimore's and Dyer's are good but in my opinion not as good as this. LaMichael Jame's highlight video was insane too, but I am gonna have to say after just comparing the two, I think Lache's is even more impressive. But the fact remains Lache stats this year aren't that impressive, so I am not sure what to make of it watching this video. There is no doubt that pudgejeff's analysis of this video is horrible, but there obviously had to have been some sort of problem this year in the offense for Lache with the skills he has shown in his highlight video for him not to produce big numbers.

I'm very surprised anyone would be unimpressed with that video. He simply ran away from defenders like they were standing still. He had good awareness and vision, and made nice adjustments for better gains. I think he would look awesome in green and gold...or white, or black, or steel, or carbon!

Not sure what highlights people were 'unimpressed' with, but I watched his highlights on rivals, and he is deadly.

I can't say I am unimpressed.

Seastrunk has a different style than LMJ, but that would just make him more deadly in the right situation.

More effective weapons force Defensive Coordinators to spread themselves (As well as their preparation time) thinner.

Today was the first time I have ever watched a Lache Seastrunk highlight tape because I never really thought we had any chance. With that being said, the kid impressed the crap out of me. To be that much better than everyone else on the field in Texas is a good indicator that he is going to be special.

I wonder if he would see the field as a punt/kick returner his first year and then get the occasional carry out of the backfield?
If I remember right, isn't that what we did with J.Stew?

After watching it again you can see the vision...I still feel like his lateral movement isn't very good but that could change with growing into his body and his pure speed can make up for it...I'm not saying I don't absolutely want this guy, that kind of speed is the thing you need in college football.

Where's the link to the video you saw?

Just wondering.
