I suppose my comment should have been I’m surprised the bucks reduced their price so quickly
The initial price for Dig was outrageous so I guess Im just not with you on the surprise in price reduction lol
I agree with this. It was quite out there. That said, I don’t blame him for overshooting I guess.
Yup, I didn’t need to move him. Originally plan was to build around Bradley, Peja and Digs..

Unless I was getting positive value, I didn’t plan to move him. I took negative value back for Big Dog but I got my pick back. So instead of being building a 1st round exit team, I got to build a losing roster now instead of next off season.

At this point with all my picks, late 20’s 1sts would be negative value for me. Kings pick is a risk. Yeah he was second seed but he also lost Spree for 3 rookies. So he needs to have a great TC.

Again I didn’t need to move Digbeu but Kings offered a fair deal.
99 times out of 100 when I rebuild I just completely bottom out. But I really just wanted to try to keep Kidd. B+ B+ is pretty rare, and I didn't think I was bad enough to tank this year with Kidd, Marshall, Wallace, and Jax improving. So even if you get a late lotto, I still think it's a good deal for us. Having his scoring on a rookie scale deal should enable us to do some other cool stuff in the near future if we choose to do so. Realistically it'll depend on if Harrington booms or busts.

And if Harrington busts out then I can still just trade everyone and tank next year, it was pretty non committal IMO.

And honestly, I didn't think you would do the deal if I re signed Kidd. I figured that was the allure of it. Maybe I'm overrating Dig, but I thought he looked really nice. I'm not even betting on TCs or anything either. If that happens it'll be a great deal. I was just happy to add the efficient scoring in the short run. I figure he has not much pot.

^ this…

I had lots of talks with Kings since he joined. We talked Divac for Gatling early on… etc etc

He seems to know and understands his decisions. But I still wanted to check with commish and he was cool with it. I could see he liked Digbeu and could of asked for more but I wanted to see his next move

So I was just risk taking, trying to sell high on my pick before Kidd signed knowing that the value I would get back was way higher with him in the FA pool vs on my roster (not to mention I had enough cap to sign someone else to a max if they signed, even though they didn't). If you tried to ask me for 2 picks including this years, I wouldn't have done that. If you wanted the 2001 and 2002 instead of the 2000, I might have considered it but it's hard for me to say now for sure now that the deal is done.

I prob should have just taken Divac for Gatling, I honestly think the Marshall trade is my worst move. Marshall is good and whatever but Spree was only a B B scoring and there was like no interest for him so I was legit just looking to almost dump him and go young around JKidd. If I had known Spree was going to go from B B scoring to the elite B+ A- scorer he became in one season, I would not have even considered that deal, and I prob could have pushed the Mavs. But hindsight is hindsight, and I usually try to operate with process over results. At the time, it felt right.

I regret that though. Even keeping Gatling and not trading him at all, Kidd, Spree, Gatling would have messed teams up. Onwards and upwards though

too many words. long-story short: shouldn't trade a lottery pick for a non-impact player.

Not saying your wrong but Kidd/SJax/Dig/Marshall looks pretty sweet. Fast and outside.

Interested to know the avg age of his team. I saw a young team reason deal caught my eye
