I don't think theres any real rhyme or reason. Just bad luck. Its not like we've had trouble getting them to commit before. Its just been last year & so far this year.Everythingsducky wrote:Don't any of these D linemen bother to look at depth charts? Is there something I am not understanding here? If you were a 4-5 star DT looking at the serious lack of depth UO has, along with a realistic chance to play a lot and early (maybe even start) on another possible run for the roses....WTF is the problem? Is it the coaches recruiting the DT's or what? Anyone have any idea?

The problem they are having in getting high-level DTs is similar to the problems the Ducks had in getting top RB and LB prospects. With RBs, it was Jonathon Stewart and Jeremiah Johnson who broke the streak of missing out on RBs and ever since we seem to be able to attract some good talent there. The futility in getting good LBs, IMO, ended with the 2007 class that included Casey Matthews. Ever since that class, we seem to get at least 2 LBs that can possibly contribute at a significant level.Everythingsducky wrote:Don't any of these D linemen bother to look at depth charts? We got Haloti back in the day, who was a 5 star. People forget, we've had at least two 5 star DT's become academically ineligible that are now playing for different teams in different conferences. Like Myles Wade and JT Thompson. These guys would be tearing it up for us right now had they been eligible. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, I know... just saying.greenyellow wrote:The problem they are having in getting high-level DTs is similar to the problems the Ducks had in getting top RB and LB prospects. Justin Thompson had one start for a 1-10 Memphis team and had 18 tackles in 8 games. Myles Wade was a redshirt at Texas Tech. Neither one has done anything to show they "would be tearing it up for us right now had they been eligible".NCDucks09 wrote:We got Haloti back in the day, who was a 5 star. Not sure who Elvis is, but if that is really a family member.... makes you think he may end up in LSU. Who knows though. We'll find out in a few days.scaredhitless08 wrote:Seastrunk to LSU... it'll happen just watch...
Reverse jinx.
That's where "Elvis" Seastrunk says "LSU a perfect fit."
