Yeah by 2 yards after a 79 yard TD run with their starters in with an aggressive run play against our reserves.
Don’t get me wrong, Oregon has a lot of improving to do, this wasn’t a clean game by Oregon, but I’m not going to overreact too much from this 9:00 game and their first road game. Now if the Beavers outrush us next week, we’re in trouble. They probably have the worst OLine we’ll see all season.
I trust the character of this team, I’m sure they won’t look at this and be happy with their performance.
We got the win, but lets face it, we did NOT look all that good. They ran at will against our defense, and basically quit playing in the 4th. Not our best showing.
If they take that game into Penn State we are going to get crushed.

Pretty ho-hum game for Oregon. They took care of business but it wasn't their best as far as execution and effort goes. Early kickoff definitely affected them and then the backups really let up at the end. Lanning and the coaches will have plenty of stuff for them this week to clean up before the Oregon State game.
Thanks for posting that GY, I hope 25 years from now we have posts about being worried Lanning is going to retire from Oregon. He is a good man and soul.

We pulled our starters in the 4, we didn’t quit playing. And they left their starters in.
Love Dan Lanning, agree with his words, and appreciate his courage to speak up.
Re: the Ducks, today wasn't the fireworks show I thought it would be, but overall they looked good, almost workmanlike. They still look far more cohesive than they looked at the start of last season, and really this thing was over at 30-0 when we finally pulled our starters. Could have easily been 37-0 had Moore put a little more under that deep ball, and could have been 40+ had the starters played longer.
Eager to read some of the analysis from more knowledgeable folks here.
I was really surprised that for not being all that sharp, lacking energy early, and substituting so much, Oregon avoided having a single penalty today.
