I like the Kirby Moore move for WSU. A young, up and coming coach who is from the state of Washington, played in the PNW and has played for and coached under some very successful college coaches. His brother is also Kellen Moore. With their conference situation, I think this is probably the best case scenario for them.

This got lost in the news shuffle apparently, but Sacramento State head coach Brennan Marion is the new OC at Colorado. This guy might change jobs more often than Jedd Fisch lol.

Was Texas’ D even the issue this year? Other than the OSU game I didn’t pay much attention to them other than the national pundits and all they bitched about was the O, particularly the lack of production from Manning. Could this be a case where Manning agreed to come back as long as they kept the OC but Sarkisian still had to fire someone for Texas way under performing this year?

In 2025, Texas ranked 19th in defensive points per drive; they were 41st in offensive points per drive.

In 2024, Texas was 1st in defensive points per drive and 23rd in offensive points per drive.

My guess is internal drama, because the on-field results don't support the decision.

I hope to be wrong, but this feels like USC lucking into being able to snag Kwiatkowski in the event that Lynn leaves, which would be an upgrade for them.

They write, without questioning the logic or sanity, that Sarkisian says he fired Kwiatkowski because Sark himself was spending too much time with the defense. Does anyone with more than one brain cell think a defense is better with more of Sark's voice and less of Kwiatkowski's? And Sark thought he needed to insert himself into the meeting room of a group that was #1 in the country in 2024 and not the group that was 23rd? Just complete nonsense.

I'm going to double down on my guess that there were interpersonal issues between Kwiatkowski and Sarkisian. I hadn't thought about the USC job, and was instead wondering if there was anything Lanning could do to bring him to Eugene, but ending up at USC would be a major bummer.

I just don't see where kwiatkowski would take a position at Oregon unless it's the DC. Even a co-dc feels like a downgrade for him, and likely wouldn't pay him as well as a school like usc would pay him.

Pete K would definitely be an upgrade over Tosh. But how would he compare vs Hampton. In the fairy tale scenario Pete K comes here, we'd probably lose Hampton.

Also, Lanning is likely heavily involved and runs the defense according to his philosophies. I guessing a top DC, such as Pete K, probably would like to go to a school where he has full reign of the defense and the HC is a offense guy. (Praying Lynn stays at USC another year or two)
