Someone on TOS mentioned all our 3 transfer commits so far are following Isaiah Elohim on social media.

Elohim would be a decent addition because of his 3-point shooting and he's a willing defender. It's strange that Oregon hasn't really gone after many P4 transfers. I guess Elohim can almost be considered one since he did play at USC for a season. Only other ones are Page, Reid and Dak.

Elohim and Compton were top 100 recruits out of high school, so they were fairly well regarded recruits initially. But yeah in terms of transfer portal rankings, our average guy commit will be in like the 150th range. I guess this is what we can afford!

I think the best case scenario is Oregon getting an Iowa-like return on the portal this past season. Stirtz was their big addition from the portal at #3 but their only other top 247 guys were #49 and #127. They finished with the #22 overall (recruit & transfer) class in the nation. Currently, Oregon has the #28 HS and #8 transfer classes, which is good for the #6 overall 2026 class.

Newest PG name that's popped up is Hofstra FR PG Preston Edmead, who'll start his visit tomorrow. He was named CAA Rookie of the Year after averaging 16.1 points and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 40.1 overall and 38.7% from three. Against Alabama in the NCAA Tournament this past season, he made 6 threes and had 24 points.

Sounds like Colorado transfer Bangot Dak may commits to SMU soon.

If we get that + Chol Machot, it's certainly a better roster already than our team last season without an injured Shelstad!

Mingo's 5* brother Dylan just decommitted from North Carolina so I wonder if they'll be a package deal wherever they go now.

Here's an interesting article about NIL market trends and positional values. Basically, bigs are overpaid while PGs are still a relative bargain. Given how Oregon is attacking the portal, they seem to be trying to stretch their dollars a little further by getting underrated bigs and guards to fill out their remaining empty positional groups.

That interesting, but what is the average 247 or on3 rating of those guys? Out of those 30 sampled PGs, if Shelstad and a couple of the higher paid PGs aren't in that data, then it shifts quite a bit.
