I am aware of how unlikely this sounds and not why they would offer him but might have a young GA and future Coach for the Ducks if the son follows his dad's footsteps into the profession.

The kid might not have the athletic ability of other recruits but a lot of kids make it on smarts and heart.

Sometime when you offer a kid you need to check off that box labeled "other". A team isn't measured in 40 times, weight or height. It's measured in effort and spirit, two things you can't assign a number.

I still think that recruiting a Dungy out of Florida is at least 50% about connections and building a pipeline.

This is true. And honestly, it could be great for the Ducks to have Tony Dungy's kid on the Ducks. We might just have a new fan...

Yes, sometimes that "other" category, combined with good coaching, can make up for a lack of stars. Just look at BSU. If they played to their star ratings, they would be about the 50th best team in America.

Dungy is apparently a really late bloomer who has been coming on alot. He very well may develop into a very good player.

Somebody mentioned that he's best friends w/ some really highly touted RB in next years class.

That RB wouldn't happen to be James Wilder, Jr. would it? Whilst looking for video on Dungy I noticed that kid and was pretty impressed by him. A 6'3 220lb RB?

Wilder Jr is the front runner for the number one player in the nation according to rivals.

Scout profile. Guy is listed as a DE on scout. Either way, if landing Dungy helps us land Wilder... I say go for it.
