Ditto. Couldn't stand him in Portland so no to him at Oregon. Plus, some people are also forgetting that the Seton Hall teams he brought in were basically guns for hire that didn't stay long, got into trouble, and hardly graduated. We need someone that will focus on both the on- and off-court actions of the team.SuperDuck wrote:Please, PLEASE, not PJ Carlisimo!

Canzano is reporting(if you can call it that) that Dixon is interested in the Oregon job. His 7 year record at Pittgreenyellow wrote:I highly doubt he'll ever leave Pitt since it's a top program in the Big East. Re: SO...
I have met PJ several times in person and believe me, he is in fact "low class". I will admit that it may have been a little over the top to call him a racist, but he is not exactly PC either. PJ used to come into the restuarant where I worked in Portland on a regular basis. The way he acted and the things that came out of his mouth were VERY inappropriate. He treated the entire restaurant staff with zero respect. Finally, a group of servers approached management and said that they would no longer wait on him even if it cost them their jobs because he was so out of line on several occasions. I just think it would be a VERY poor choice to have him representing the University of Oregon.PDXShogun wrote:First of all, I said it makes sense based on name recognition and salary demands, I never said it was the right hire.northbeachsf wrote:That makes zero sense to me. What is the thinking on this Bellotti? Let's replace the current low class coach who can't coach defense with an older low class coach who can't coach defense, who has not coached college in 15 years, and who is also a racist (allegedly). Excellent idea.PDXShogun wrote:That's why Carlesimo makes some sense.
I don't even know what to say. Probably the only situation I could imagine that is worse than the one we have now is the one where PJ is the Oregon coach. If he gets hired, I am calling Spreewell to finish the job!
Second, if you don't think either can coach a lick, that's fine, but calling either "low class" is ridiculously off base. I can't call a time when either has ever been disrespectful to the fans or media. And if PJ was even remotely racist there is a 0% chance he would be hanging around the NBA for so long. These comments hold absolutely no merit.
BTW..what EK did on his little vacation was also "low class" in my book, but this is just my opinion.

For once, I hope Canzano is right. I think Dixon would be a tremendous hire, certainly at the top of the list.

"I'm told that University of Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon is interested in the job, and that there's some mutual interest coming from Camp Swoosh. Remember, this decision will be run through the Beaverton sneaker company. Dixon's contract runs through 2012-2013 at Pitt and he's taken the Panthers (24-7, 13-5 Big East) to an Elite 8 already so I'm not sure if he's posturing here to get some leverage (Read: extension) or if he believes he's done all he can do at Pitt."duckgrad99 wrote:Duck Dogers wrote:Canzano is reporting(if you can call it that) that Dixon is interested in the Oregon job. Dixon is my top choice with Turgeon a close second. I hope he does indeed have a genuine interest in Oregon.dthomas=ddixon wrote:"I'm told that University of Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon is interested in the job, and that there's some mutual interest coming from Camp Swoosh.
