We would surely be able to put some weight on him by the time he would actually play though. You would think that he would be a sure fire Redshirt.

Considering Kiffin sent Boyd packing, I find it surprising that Tennessee is offering him, unless as something other than a QB...

Yeah but it would be pretty easy to get him up to weight. He's never gonna be the 220 that Masoli is but with 1-2 years in a weight program he could definitely get up to 5'11 195. That's pretty solid.UOducksTK1 wrote:I don't think undersized is an issue, but he is listed at 167 pounds, which is an issue haha.dthomas=ddixon wrote:In this offense is height really an issue? Masoli is right about 5'10-5'11 & he seems to be working out ok. If the kid has the ability I hope he gets an offer & that the coaches aren't holding off just because of his size. Worse case he's another Harper & we move him to another position.
That's pretty darn skinny.
Another thing to remember is this kid is still a JR in HS, by this time next year he could have grown another 2-3 inches & put on 15-20 lbs.

I'm sure this kid will be fine, lock him up and add a Walker, Bolden, or Leal type player and I'd be very happy with the QBs from this class.

I don't think the coaches are very high on Leal, he is a backup plan. Look for Stephen Morris from Miami Pace to get some looks in the spring when coaches head to south florida. He is 6'2 185 and has a cannon. Very good baseball player too.
